 &lt;p&gt;HTML-in-Canvas is a Web standard proposal incubated at WICG by the Chrome team — turning &lt;code&gt;&amp;lt;canvas&amp;gt;&lt;/code&gt; children from &amp;ldquo;invisible fallback content&amp;rdquo; into &amp;ldquo;layoutable, drawable, interactive offscreen HTML layers.&amp;rdquo; This means DOM becomes a first-class citizen of the GPU rendering pipeline for the first time.&lt;/p&gt;
